It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything, and I’m dying to figure out whether ping.com does anything for me, so I’m taking this opportunity to say a few words about some very good friends I met in Guangzhou.
It’s still hard to believe that within two weeks of my initial arrival, and opportunity had popped up for me to speak with students from the nearby Zhongshan Medical University, leading to some close friendships and very intriguing coincidences. The girl to my immediate left was high school classmates with my cousin back in Beijing.
It’s a little mind-blowing to think that these people are on the other side of the world, continuing their education as I continue mine; we came from completely different upbringings but for a brief moment in time our paths intersected…and who knows? Perhaps it put into motion a chain of events that will lead to unforeseeable changes further down the road.
